Software Data Cable for Android

For all Android users who always misplace (that would be me) or doesn't want to carry their USB Data Cable, this is the application for us. Software Data Cable, by Proid Mobile, Inc., turns your Android device into a FTP server - a file server that can easily be accessed through a network. For Android devices, that would typically be through WiFi.

Using the app is simple, just open the app, click the "Start Service" button, and the ftp address of the device will appear on screen.

It also gives us the option to set a Username and Password to avoid prying eyes.

We can then use a browser to access the server and download the needed files,

or download the free Filezilla Client. An advantage of using Filezilla is the ability to queue multiple file downloads, which is very useful, for example, in downloading multiple photos from the device.

I'd say that this is one great app for the instances that we need to transfer files and not have a data cable or a card reader by our side.

Software Data Cable can be downloaded on Market. Or you may scan the QR code below.
