Top 5 Android Games On My Cherry Mobile Magnum

With my Cherry Mobile Magnum, gaming on my mobile has been more fun. For now, here are my top 5 favorite games (most of the times, Angry Birds bore me :D).

1. Third Blade from Com2uS

Third Blade is a Hack and Slash RPG. Your character can wield 3 types of blade, dual blades, one-handed sword, and a two-handed sword, each of which has their own drawbacks and sets of abilities. Gameplay is simple, just hack and slash monsters, and defeat their boss in every stage. With RPG elements, your character levels up and you can buy equipment at the shop with collected gold. Skills are also available in the shop.

While the story is short and non-immersive, for Hack and Slash and RPG fans, this is one must-have game. You'll get hours and hours of enjoyment even in your daily commute. Third Blade is freely downloadable from the Market.

Note: Third Blade also runs fine on my LG Optimus One.

An option to save on Com2uS server is quite handy

Gameplay is simple, just hack and slash the monsters in every stage
Combos give bonuses like increasing damage and increasing critical hit percentage

After completing a few stages, an Arcade mode is unlocked
You'll be facing hordes of higher level monsters that eases
collecting both Experience Points and Gold

2. Guerrilla Bob from Angry Mob Games

Guerrilla Bob is a comic 3D Third Person Shooter. You're playing as ex-military Bob getting vengeance on your friend. Gameplay is packed with lots of shooting, and in Mercenary mode, you can buy weapons for much more fun. You can also double the fun in Multiplayer mode. What's good is that Multiplayer mode is Cross-Platform, I am playing this with my wife on her iPod Touch.

Unfortunately, Guerrilla Bob is not free (although there is a free version in the Market, Guerrilla Bob Lite). Guerrilla Bob can be purchased in the Market for $2.99 or around PhP 130.79, but I was able to purchase mine during its 50% discount.

Cross-Platform Multiplayer is one of the best features of this game

3. Shadow Guardian HD from Gameloft

Shadow Guardian is a 3D Platformer. Personally, I'm a big fan of platforming, hence, I gave this game a shot. I still haven't played through the stages of this game, but you are playing as Jason Call with the antagonist forcing you to remember things in his machine (ala-Animus in Assassin's Creed). Gameplay is reminiscent of my favorite PS3 game, Uncharted. There are numerous gunfights and numerous platforming scenes. This is the first full 3D game that I've played with Android, and I can say that the 3D renders are great for a mobile.

Shadow Guardian HD is not downloadable from the Market. It can be purchased from Gameloft's site. Gameloft doesn't list Huawei Ideos X6 (Huawei's version of the Magnum) as supporting the game, but the HTC Desire HD version works just fine. The download is around 300MB.

Cinematics give the game a richer experience

Expect to see lots of platforming action through the game

Gunfights are a little hard at first, but it gets easier in time

4. Drag Racing from Creative Mobile

Drag Racing is simply an addictive racing game. Buy your car, upgrade it, tune it, and race it. Gameplay is simple, just time your launch and your shifts, but personally, I'd say that tuning is one of the fun parts in this game.

Drag Racing is freely downloadable from the Market.

Note: Drag Racing also runs fine on my LG Optimus One.

Lots of car to choose from

Launch is all about timing the RPM's

Shifts, as well, is all about timing

I'd say that this is actually the fun part in the game,
upgrading and tuning your car

5. Tank Hero from Clapfoot Inc.

Tank Hero is a 3D Tank Shooter. The objective is to shoot all enemy tanks. This game is very challenging (and sometimes frustrating) in the latter stages.

Tank Hero is freely downloadable from the Market.

Note: Tank Hero also runs fine on my LG Optimus One.

Just shoot enemy tanks and stage is cleared
It's interesting to note that bullets bounce on walls once

Some stages are just challenging

  1. Most of them have simple graphics, but that doesn't take away from the fact that they can be good games. Other good games you can get at https://plusapk.net/
